I've known people who are "loved for who they are" and that means they never make any real attempt to grow up or improve themselves. This is about that. Well... sort of. It's mainly what happens when you come up with the album title first and then trying to explain it.
lyrics
Laura plays life like a game
The rulebook lost so long ago
Just everyday she rolls the die
She's set her strategy
Takes her piece and move it backwards
I think she's just afraid to win
She won't know anymore
Why she turns back the score
She's just so stuck in her mistakes that she adores
All her life she's playing
Spot the deliberate mistakes
Stuck the gears in reverse
And tore apart the brakes
So I'll be here praying
One day she just admits when she goes wrong
She won't feel a need to change
Her boyfriend sits and stares in wonder
Loving all her flaws
Human beings weren't built that way
We're designed to grow and flourish
We just stagnate when we don't change
It's time to realise
The things she should despise
But she's still so afraid she'll fail if she tries
All her life she's playing
Spot the deliberate mistakes
Stuck the gears in reverse
And tore apart the brakes
So I'll be here praying
One day she just admits when she goes wrong
She just admits when she goes wrong
She goes wrong...
She goes wrong...
Wrong...
Wrong...
Wrong...
