Life on earth can be so exquisite
But one life is such a short visit
Some day we'll have to say goodbye
And it always feels like we're out of time
As the final hour draws near
Some are captive in a state of fear
Of what might come and what will be
Our future here is not guaranteed
Life is hard and there's lots to get wrong
So I'm glad I'm not around too long

While humanity repeats all its mistakes
Yet as our lives take dips and turns
We try to hold to the lessons we learn
But what impetus do we have to try
If we think that one day we'll die?
I think time enjoyed is not a waste
And this life is given to be embraced
But our eternal purpose is so much greater
As intended by our creator
God is immortal while the earth decays
And He is pleased by our attempts at praise
He gave us a life we could never deserve
And sees all we do upon this earth
God has no beginning and no end
A concept whose fullness we can never comprehend
Although mere mortals our deeds live on
In the mind of God long after we're gone
For all life remains a blip on forever
While our creator watches our every endevour
To live forever is to live for the divine
To live for our God who lives out of time
